Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee in this classification, under the supervision of the Laundry Supervisor, sorts laundry for washing; loads and unloads wet and dry linens from machines; operates washers and dryers; removes, sorts, and dries clean linen; cleans linen carts, laundry and washing area; performs related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collects soiled linens from the nursing units and transports to laundry area for processing.
• Weighs soiled linens prior to washing.
• Loads and unloads soiled wet linens; operates washers.
• Sorts linen for ironing, drying and folding.
• Loads and unloads wet linens; operates dryers.
• Transports clean linen carts to nursing units; returns clean linen carts to laundry.
• Cleans soiled linen carts.
• Cleans lint traps on dryers.
• Assists with processing of clean linens as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• This is an entry level position; no prior experience is required.
• Successful completion of the probationary period for the position of Laundry Worker II.
• Be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
