UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to process and supply clean linens across the facility. You will load, dry, fold, and deliver linens, inspect for damage, and coordinate with teams to maintain steady linen flow.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of laundry experience. This on-site, non-exempt role offers a 20-hour weekly schedule and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Loads/unloads dryers, sets temperatures and cycle times.
  • Operates small piece folding machine and folds manually.

  • Inspects linens for stains and damage and directs rewashing.
  • Sorts and preps linen for ironing and pressing, and manages shelving.
  • Keeps area neat, stocks supplies, records usage, and maintains equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is to process and supply a sufficient quantity of clean linens. Performs a variety of duties in the washroom, dryer and sorting areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year laundry experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Loads and unloads dryers. Sets proper temperatures, drying time, and cool down cycles. Operates the small piece folding machine. Folds manually as necessary. Delivers finished linen to the clean linen room. Examines articles for stains, tears, worn, and other imperfections. Directs items for rewashing and mending.

2. Feeds/receives linen and related items into/from the ironing machine. Folds laundry/linen as necessary. Examines articles for stains, tears, wear, and other imperfections. Directs items for rewashing and mending.

3. Sorts laundry/linen, including shaking, folding and stacking. Prepares linen for processing by the ironer, dryers and presser. Examines articles for stains, tears, wear, and other imperfections. Directs items for rewashing, and mending.

4. Counts and records linen usage. Prepares all linen orders for distribution. Maintains adequate linen supplies for shelf stocking, linen orders, and linen par system. Coordinates and sets linen need priorities. Evaluates individual linen, circulating linen, back up supplies, production flow, and user needs.

5. Prepares and washes soiled laundry/linen. Records and calculates all soiled linen weights. Loads and unloads washing machines. Delivers clean linen to the sorting table.

6. Delivers/receives clean/soiled linen to/from all user locations. Assists in fulfilling special linen order requests. Maintains and cleans linen carts. Replaces linen bags on hamper stands as needed.

7. Loads and unloads linen carts, trucks and tables.

8. Maintain a neat and orderly area. Order and stock department supplies and inventories.

9. Process all linen items that need special pressing. Affix the hospital logo.

10. Maintains department equipment. Report and record equipment malfunctions.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
