Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. in Sanford, ME is seeking a Laundry Worker to maintain clean linens and garments for a long-term care facility. You will handle sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of items while supporting residents and staff with friendly service.

Starting pay is USD 17.00 per hour. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, adherence to infection control policies, and willingness to train; prior laundry experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous laundry experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and personal clothing.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain records of laundry activities and report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions policies to ensure a sanitary environment.
• Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership to perform daily tasks.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to work around cleaning products.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
• Residency within the service area required

Offered hourly rates for this position are determined based on applicant qualifications, experience, education, and the specific needs, aspects, operational considerations, and requirements of the facility serviced.
