Job summary

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain cleanliness and organization at our skilled nursing facility. You will operate laundry equipment, sort and launder linens, and support staff to ensure residents' comfort and dignity.

We value reliability, detail orientation, and teamwork. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, following infection control standards, and reporting equipment issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and carry up to 10lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ability to meet Department of Health standards and work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Function as washer, dryer, or runner person as assigned, following established procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between laundry personnel and unit staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of necessary supplies in the laundry room.
  • Report any personnel issues to the Director of Housekeeping/Laundry.
  • Maintain and record the quantity of linen available for delivery on the daily "Linen Delivery" roster and report any shortages.
  • Ensure clothing and linens are washed, dried, and folded according to established procedures, including using correct settings, weights, and dryer temperatures.
  • Monitor the quality of personal laundry processing to minimize wrinkles.
  • Inspect linens during folding and record any items pulled from service on the "Out of Service" sheet.
  • Complete all required documentation and quality assurance audits as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping/Laundry.
  • Ensure all resident clothing and personal items are labeled according to procedure.
  • Adhere to infection control standards, including proper lifting techniques.
  • Promptly report any equipment problems to the supervisor and maintenance.
