Job summary

Crossing Rivers Health is seeking a dedicated Laundry Technician to handle the full laundry cycle, from sorting and washing to drying, folding, and distribution of linens. You’ll operate equipment, maintain cleanliness, and ensure accurate documentation and timely processing in a healthcare setting.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and good time management. No prior experience is required, and a valid driver's license helps for facility mobility; rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Perform the entire laundry cycle, including gathering soiled linen, sorting, weighing and documentation.
  • Weigh and document soiled linen by department.
  • Examine and sort soiled linens according to color, fabric, soil content and cleaning techniques.
  • Select most suitable stain-treating solution for different types of linen and stain type.
  • Process clean linen, mend and logo marking as needed as well as any sewing projects.
  • Notify Environmental Services Manager when linen inventory, supplies or equipment is needed.
  • Operate all equipment using the proper program settings and functions for respective work tasks.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and perform routine maintenance.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new areas and participate in projects as needed.
  • Stay current on departmental policies and communications via email and the portal.

Position Summary

Responsible for receiving, processing, and distribution of linens, while ensuring efficient work flow, in compliance with Federal/State laws, Crossing Rivers Health policies and procedures, utilizing Universal Precautions at all times.

We are seeking an individual who is accountable, detail oriented, reliable, safety aware, and has good time management skills with the ability to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform the entire laundry cycle, including gathering soiled linen, proper sorting, weighing and documentation, proper processing, folding and distribution.
  • Weigh and document soiled linen by department.
  • Examine and sort soiled linens according to color, fabric, soil content and cleaning techniques while pre-treating stains as needed.
  • Select most suitable stain-treating solution for different types of linen and stain type.
  • Process clean linen, mend and logo marking as needed as well as any sewing projects.
  • Process linen and complete mending for non-medical center facilities; transport soiled and clean linens back to facilities as directed.
  • Clean and hang cubicle curtains and drapery as needed and perform any ironing or steaming duties as necessary.
  • Responsible for complete processing and storage of all tablecloths and table skirts.
  • Notify Environmental Services Manager when linen inventory, supplies or equipment is needed.
  • Notify Environmental Services Manager if there is a need for major repairs in any area throughout the organization.
  • Operate all equipment using the proper program settings and functions for respective work tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance duties within the department, and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Ability to effectively operate any equipment within the department as necessary.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new areas, expand current position knowledge and participate in projects as needed.
  • Accountable to stay current on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for staying updated on Crossing Rivers Health communications via email and utilizing the portal.
  • Provide suggestions that could improve service, safety, increase operational efficiency or process improvement.
  • Adequately perform other duties as deemed necessary for the continued viability and success of the department and organization as a whole.

Physical Demands

This position will require the individual to stand, walk, grasp, bend, squat, reach outward and above shoulder on a regular basis. Lift and carry up to 10 pounds constantly and frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
