Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Laundry Service Senior positions at Nemours Alfred I. DuPont in Wilmington, DE. No experience required; training provided.

The role involves packing, sorting, and organizing linen; loading/unloading; delivering to hospital departments; and maintaining safety and quality standards. Fixed pay rate: $18.50 per hour. Shift schedules vary with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in laundry/linen work preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English with hospital staff and colleagues.
• Willing to train and learn procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process linen: feeding, receiving, sorting, folding, wrapping and stacking.
• Inspect linens and identify those needing repair or reprocessing.
• Load processed linens into baskets, racks and conveyors and ensure proper storage.
• Order linen and build organized carts to standard par level.
• Load/unload trucks and deliver clean linen to hospital departments.
• Operate Cart Sterilizer and report machinery problems promptly.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain budgetary discipline.
• Support department goals and mentor less experienced staff as needed.
• Follow daily routines and complete all duties assigned.

Job Summary

DEFINITION: Properly and accurately, pack, inspect and organize clean linen ensuring our customer receives their order with high quality and presentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform mathematical calculations.
• 2. Ability to perform duties requiring walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• 3. Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-In-Caring Process in all interactions and in performing all job duties. Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare and process linen: feeding, receiving, sorting, folding, wrapping and/or stacking; inspect linens identifying linens requiring repair or reprocessing; load processed linens into baskets, racks and the conveyor ensuring availability and appropriate storage of processed linen.
• Orders linen
• Build clean, neat, organized carts to set standard par level
• Loads/unloads trucks
• Deliver clean linen to the different departments within the hospitals.
• Operates Cart Sterilizer
• Report machinery problems immediately to management
• Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

SKILLS: One to two years as laundry, linen worker or service worker preferred. Ability to communicate in English with hospital staff, patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
