Sequoia Transitional Care is seeking a dependable Part-Time Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary laundry area and ensure residents’ clothing and linens are properly washed, dried, folded, delivered, and stored.

The position requires GED or high school diploma with 1 year of experience preferred; lifting up to 50 pounds is expected and safety procedures must be followed. We offer a part-time schedule in Porterville, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a quantity of clean linen for residents’ care and comfort.
  • Maintain linen in good repair and remove linen with holes or stains from service.
  • Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
  • Label new resident clothing items as needed.
  • Sort, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
  • Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms.
  • Follow sanitary procedures for laundry duties.
  • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
  • Use laundry equipment safely and report issues to the Administrator.

Laundry Aide – Part-Time

Sequoia Transitional Care is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Laundry Aide to join our team. The Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized laundry area while ensuring residents’ personal clothing and facility linens are properly washed, dried, folded, delivered, and stored. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and committed to helping maintain a comfortable and clean environment for our residents.

Pay Range: $17.48 – $17.50 per hour

General Purpose

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, and free from offensive orders.

Essential Duties
  • Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
  • Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.
  • Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
  • Label new resident’s clothing items as needed.
  • Sorting, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens
  • Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms
  • Follows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties
  • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies
  • Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
  • Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification
  • Education and/or Experience: GED or High School Diploma
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.
