Job summary

Westchester Village in Lenexa, KS is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to supply and maintain clean linens for residents across homes. You will wash, dry, iron, fold, and store linens daily, ensuring color and fabric protection and adherence to safety standards.

Experience is helpful but not required. The role requires organization, the ability to handle heavy loads, and knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Organizational skills for labeling and sorting clothing and linens.

Responsibilities

  • Handle heavy loads with or without assistance.
  • Follow Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Policy when applicable.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals and comply with EPA/OSHA safety policies.
  • Operate various laundry equipment safely and properly.
  • Keep separate linen carts for soiled and clean linens.
  • Report repairs and equipment problems to supervisor; maintain clean laundry area.

This position must provide a supply of clean, disinfected linens for use in the individual homes at all times. They are to keep residents’ clothing clean and washed in a manner which will preserve color and fabric, and avoid contamination and spreading of bacteria. They will also keep linens and clothing washed, dried, ironed, folded and stored in designated areas on a daily basis, as well as to keep laundry area and equipment clean. The laundry person may be required to perform tasks which involve exposure to visible blood contamination or reasonably anticipated blood contamination.
