Job summary

Ascent Hospitality seeks a dedicated Laundry Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and care of hotel linen and terry for a guest‑focused experience. You will coordinate with housekeeping to ensure linen pars and timely distribution across floors and F&B outlets.

The role emphasizes safety, proper chemical handling, and adherence to OSHA rules while supporting other housekeeping areas as needed. A team player with strong English communication will thrive here.

Responsibilities

  • Receives soiled linens from laundry chutes and carts.
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold dirty linen and store clean linen.
  • Distribute cleaned linen for housekeeping and F/B staff.
  • Operate Washer, Dryer, Iron and Board as needed.
  • Stock cleaned linen in appropriate areas.
  • Maintain daily linen inventories for hotel departments.
  • Keep laundry area clean and organized (mop/sweep).
  • Maintain washers and dryers and clean lint trays and vents.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in other housekeeping areas as needed.
  • Respond to guest housekeeping needs within 10 minutes.
  • Use guest name on floors and in rooms.

Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to join our team as Laundry Attendant!

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and care of all hotel guest room linen and terry. For full-service hotels with Food and Beverage outlets, this would also include Food and Beverage linen. Coordinates with Housekeeping Management on inventory levels of all linen and terry to ensure linen pars are maintained on guest floors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Receives soiled linens from laundry chutes and laundry carts.
  • Sort, Wash, Dry, Fold dirty linen and terry and properly store clean linen. (Requires loading and unloading heavy, wet laundry to and from Washer and dryers.
  • Coordinate and distribute all cleaned linen and terry for housekeeping and F/B staff (as applicable)
  • Operate Laundry Equipment- Washer, Dryer, Flat Iron, Iron and Board (as needed per guest request
  • Stock all cleaned linen and terry in appropriate areas
  • Keep updated daily inventories of linen and terry to meet needs of hotel departments.
  • Replenish laundry supplies from storage as directed.
  • Keep all areas of department clean and organized which may include, sweeping and mopping of floors in Laundry area.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of washers and dryers (cleaning lint trays and dryer vents regularly, wiping machines inside/outside)
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
  • Adherence to OSHA regulations as outlined by department management, as well as company policies andprocedures.
  • Assists in other areas of housekeeping as needed
  • Timely (within 10 minutes) response to customer needs for housekeeping needs.
  • Use of Guest name at all times when on the Guest floors and upon entering an occupied room and in public areas.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to understand, read, write and speak basic English. And communicate with Team Members and Guests.

  • Must be able to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time; using arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb or balance, talk and hear.
  • Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, warm temperature and not be allergic to dust.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move wet laundry up to 10 (+) pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Some related experience or training preferred.
  • Must be able to work in team environment
