Job summary

Oxford Casino Hotel in Oxford, Maine, part of Churchill Downs Incorporated, is seeking a Laundry Attendant to maintain linens for a 107-room facility and its outlets. Duties include sorting, washing, folding, and delivering linen across departments in a fast-paced hotel/casino environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior laundry experience is a plus.

• Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Empty all laundry receptacles.
• Sort all linen for laundering.
• Pre-spot and pre-soak stains before washing.
• Load and unload washers and dryers.
• Fold linen, with or without a partner.
• Deliver and stack clean linen in supply areas.
• Report problems to Housekeeping Supervisor or Guest Relations Manager.
• Monitor chemicals/items and reorder as needed.
• Store chemicals properly.
• Coordinate with departments for proper linen distribution.
• Promote outstanding customer relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Empty all laundry receptacles
• Properly sort all linen for laundering
• Pre-spot and pre-soak difficult stains before washing
• Load and unload washers and dryers
• Fold linen, individually or with partner based on size
• Deliver and stack clean linen in supply areas
• Report any problems immediately to Housekeeping Supervisor or Guest Relations Manager
• Report to manager when chemicals/items needed for job need to be reordered
• Store chemicals neatly and properly
• Communicate with other departments for proper distribution of laundry
• Promotes outstanding customer relations
• Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior laundry experience a plus. Must be able to work alone and/or as a team
• Must have good communication and organization skills. Must be detail oriented
• Required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Frequently walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, carrying and climbing.
