Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort in Marathon, FL is seeking a dependable Laundry Attendant to join the Housekeeping team. The role involves washing, drying, folding, organizing, and distributing linens to support daily resort operations and guest experiences.

Ideal candidates are organized, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of housekeeping, laundry operations, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize towels, bed linens, and other resort laundry items.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and folding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Sort laundry by fabric type, color, soil level, and washing requirements.
• Inspect linens for stains or wear and determine necessary treatments or removal from service.
• Load and unload washers and dryers; select cycles and temperatures appropriately.
• Maintain clean linen carts and storage areas; track supplies and inventory.
• Coordinate pickup, processing, and delivery of guest laundry with proper documentation.

About The Position

Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our Housekeeping team in beautiful Marathon, Florida.

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding, organizing, and distributing linens, towels, and other laundry items to support daily resort operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining cleanliness standards, ensuring a consistent supply of fresh linens, and helping our Housekeeping team deliver an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize towels, bed linens, and other resort laundry according to established procedures.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and folding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Sort laundry by fabric type, color, soil level, and washing requirements.
• Inspect linens and towels for stains, damage, and excessive wear, determining whether items require stain treatment, rewashing, repair, or removal from service.
• Apply appropriate stain removal treatments and follow established laundry procedures.
• Load and unload washers and dryers, selecting appropriate wash cycles, drying times, and temperatures.
• Measure and use laundry detergents, chemicals, and cleaning products according to safety guidelines.
• Fold, stack, and store clean linens and towels neatly in designated storage areas.
• Maintain clean linen carts and ensure proper separation of clean and soiled laundry.
• Stock linen shelves and maintain adequate supplies for Housekeeping and other resort departments.
• Collect soiled linens from designated areas, clear laundry chutes, and transport laundry using appropriate carts and equipment.
• Assist with distributing clean linens and towels to housekeeping closets, guest areas, and other departments as needed.
• Monitor linen inventory, track damaged or discarded items, and report shortages to management.
• Maintain accurate laundry production records and guest laundry logs as required.
• Coordinate the pickup, processing, and delivery of guest laundry while following proper handling and documentation procedures.
• Clean lint traps, dryer screens, filters, and laundry equipment as required.
• Keep the laundry room, equipment, storage areas, and workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and damaged linens to management.
• Follow all resort cleanliness standards, chemical handling procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Assist with stocking housekeeping supplies and preparing amenities as needed.
• Properly turn in any lost and found items according to resort procedures.
• Respond to guest and team member requests promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Assist the Housekeeping team with additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping, laundry operations, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
• Previous experience operating commercial laundry equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and proper chemical handling guidelines.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize daily laundry needs.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift laundry items and supplies.
• Ability to push and maneuver laundry carts.
• Ability to work in warm, humid laundry environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including sorting, folding, loading, and unloading laundry.
