Job summary

Regis Corporation is seeking a Laundry Attendant to maintain the laundry and related facilities in a clean, orderly state. You will follow approved folding techniques to cure linen prior to reuse and respond to guest requests for housekeeping supplies in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include receiving soiled linens, sorting by kind and soil level, operating washers and dryers correctly, inspecting items, and folding towels and linens to standard.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with guests in English.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and push/pull 80 pounds.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
• Receive soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.
• Sort articles by kind, color, and degree of soil.
• Inspect all laundry and linens and record all damaged or stained items.
• Know how to operate the washers and dryers properly by ensuring they are on the proper cycles for the type of linen or terry being washed or dried.
• Pre-spot stained linen and terry before re-washing.
• Load linen in washer; unload and transfer to dryers.
• Maintain productivity standards.
• Remove linen immediately from dryers and fold to prevent wrinkles.
• Fold linen according to proper standards; adhere to no iron laundry procedures.
• Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion.
• Maintain a well organized, neat laundry room.
• Check washing machine drains to prevent clogging.
• Complete maintenance form when needed; inform management of malfunctions.
• Damp mop laundry floor daily.
• Clean lint traps after each load.
• Wipe down machines daily and maintain equipment per manufacturer’s procedures.
• Empty and turn off all machines at shift end.
• Respond to guest requests for housekeeping supplies in a timely manner.
• Must be able to communicate with guests in English.

Position Title: Laundry Attendant

Major Function:

• Maintains the laundry and appropriate facilities in a clean and orderly manner. Follows approved folding techniques allowing the linen to cure prior to placing back into service.

Essential Functions:

• Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
• Receive soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.
• Sort articles by kind, color, and degree of soil.
• Inspect all laundry and linens and record all damaged or stained items.
• Know how to operate the washers and dryers properly by ensuring they are on the proper cycles for the type of linen or terry being washed or dried.
• Pre-spot stained linen and terry before re-washing.
• Load linen in washer. When complete, unload washer and load it into dryers
• Maintain productivity standards.
• Remove linen immediately from dryers and fold to prevent wrinkles.
• Fold linen according to proper standards. Adhere to no iron laundry procedures.
• Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion.
• Maintain a well organized, neat laundry room.

• Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
• The ability to communicate with our guests in English is necessary to give them the service level expected.
• Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
• Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds; push and pull 80 pounds.
• Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with Associate Handbook. Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate Handbook.
• Other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable of performing.
