Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, treat, and press banquet and table linens.
• Identify and pre-treat stains using appropriate chemicals.
• Operate or hand-press items to achieve crisp finishes.
• Wash, dry, and fold standard hotel sheets and towels.
• Inspect linens for tears or stains and flag for repair.
• Fold, hang, and organize linens by size and color.
• Transport soiled linens from designated areas.
• Fold and stock closets; keep laundry area clean.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the Executive Housekeeper.

Job Overview Historic Hotel Bethlehem is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. In addition to handling standard facility linens, this role requires specific knowledge of banquet and table linens. You will be responsible for ensuring linens are pristine, perfectly pressed, and ready for high-end presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Banquet & Table Linens: Sort, wash, treat, and press tablecloths, napkins, table runners, and overlays.
• Stain Removal: Identify and pre-treat tough event stains (e.g., wine, grease, wax, coffee) using appropriate chemicals.
• Finishing & Ironing: Operate commercial ironers/mangles or hand-press items to ensure a crisp, wrinkle-free finish.
• General Laundry: Wash, dry, and fold standard hotel sheets, towels, and staff uniforms.
• Quality Control: Inspect clean linens for tears, permanent stains, or fraying, and discard or flag items for repair.
• Organization: Correctly fold, hang, and organize banquet linens by size and color to prevent wrinkling before events.
  
• Retrieve, collect, and transport soiled linens from designated areas.
• Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, and stock housekeeping closets.
• Keep the laundry room, machines, and carts clean, tidy, and free of lint or debris.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Executive Housekeeper immediately
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Prior hotel experience.
• Fabric Knowledge: Basic understanding of different fabric types and their specific washing/drying requirements.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, push heavy laundry carts, and be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
• Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for stains, wrinkles, and presentation standards.
  
• Communication: Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
