Job summary

Loomis Communities Inc. is hiring a Full-Time Laundry Associate to support our long-term care facility. You will operate washers and dryers, handle linens, and maintain a clean, organized laundry area.

Responsibilities

• Load articles into washer with detergent and operate washing cycles.
• Transfer finished items to dryers and manage drying times.
• Sort, fold, and distribute clean laundry to designated areas.
• Press and iron garments as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Assist with drapes and cubicle curtain laundering as needed.
• Report to work regularly and promptly.

FULL TIME LAUNDRY ASSOCIATE POSITION

MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY INCLUDING MORNINGS, NIGHTS, AND WEEEKNDS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
• Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
• Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles.
• Sorts dried articles according to identification system. Folds, counts, and distributes items to appropriate locations.
• Presses/irons garments as instructed.
• Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities.
• Cleans work area and equipment.
• Complies with safety procedures, state sanitation standards and state regulations of long term care facilities.
• Washes and rehangs drapes and cubicle curtains.
• Follows confidentiality requirements and residents’ rights at all times.
• Follows safety regulations, infection control, and standard precaution procedures at all times.
• Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the age specific competencies as described for members of the laundry staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
• Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.
