Life Care Center of The North Shore is looking for a per-diem Laundry Assistant!

We are seeking candidates who have experience in laundry, preferably in a long-term care facility or hospital setting.

Candidates must be able to speak and write in English.

Position Summary

The Laundry Aide performs daily laundry services, ensuring patients’ laundry needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Prior healthcare experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility
• Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
• Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
• Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training

Essential Functions

• Perform daily laundry tasks such as collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing
• Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Use reasoning skills and good judgment during work
• Communicate effectively and work productively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during work hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
