Job summary

SanStone Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Floor Technician/Housekeeping Aide to join our caregiving team. The role involves daily cleaning duties, including floors, restrooms, patient rooms, and common areas, with responsibilities for reporting to the Environmental Services Director and performing floor stripping and extraction.

Candidates must be able to lift 25–100 lb frequently and handle cleaning chemicals safely.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform cleaning tasks and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 25–100 lb frequently.
• Must be able to push/pull cleaning carts and linen carts over 100 lb on tile and carpet.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and other hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a superior level of cleaning in assigned areas to maintain a clean environment.
• Report to Environmental Services Director for scheduling.
• Perform daily cleaning, buffing, and bonneting; document work completed.
• Perform floor stripping and extraction projects.
• Clean lobbies, rest rooms, patient rooms, offices, halls, and dining areas.
• Sweep, mop, dust furniture, wash walls and windows; empty wastebaskets.

Provide a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment.

• Report to the Environmental Services Director for work scheduling.


• Perform daily cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures and document work completed.


• Perform floor stripping and extraction projects.


• Be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling furniture and equipment (25 - 100 lb.) frequently.


• Be capable of pushing and pulling a cleaning cart, linen cart, or other equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift.


• Must be able to handle/interact with all chemicals used


• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and even other hours as needed per assigned area.


• Clean lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, patient rooms, offices, halls, nurses' stations, dining rooms, and beauty parlor.


• Sweep and mop floors, clean rugs, carpets, and furniture.


• Clean toilets, sinks, and other restroom fixtures.


• Dust furniture, pictures, and baseboard. Wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.


• Empty and clean wastebaskets.


• Transport trash and waste to disposal area.


• Replenish bathroom supplies for hand washing at sink areas and disposable gloves for nursing.


• Follow guidelines for labeling of cleaning supplies, wearing appropriate personal protection equipment, etc.


• Label products and bottles according to facility guidelines.
