Job summary

Orchard Health and Rehabilitation in Georgia is seeking an Evening Laundry Attendant to manage clothes and linens, sort and hang items, and ensure cleanliness. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and patient-centered service within a non-profit setting.

Starting pay is $14.20/hour with weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) with match, PTO, and a referral bonus program.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent communication with patients, families and staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Folds and sorts clothes.
  • Hangs clothes on racks according to name and numbers.
  • Ensures clothes are ready to wear and disrepair is addressed.
  • Follows MSDS precautions for chemicals used.
  • Washes and dries clothes and linens.
  • Keeps laundry equipment clean and on schedule.
  • Sweeps and mops laundry area.
  • Empties washers and dryers as requested.
  • Cleans and disinfects linen carts as requested.
  • Stains removal.
  • Promotes the image of the System through servant leadership and communication.
  • Participates in committees and project work within the System.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Folds and sorts clothes.
  • Hangs clothes on racks according to name and numbers.
  • Ensures the patients’ clothes are ready to wear and any disrepair put in proper place.
  • Understands functions of various soaps and bleaches.
  • Follows precautions as stated on MSDS for all chemicals used.
  • Washes and dries clothes and linens.
  • Keeps equipment clean and follows cleaning schedules.
  • Sweeps and mops laundry area.
  • Empties washers and dryers as requested.
  • Cleans and disinfects linen carts as requested.
  • Stain removal.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Communicates well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude. Responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or its equivalent preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER APPLICATION SKILLS
