Job summary

The Bradford at Brookside - Livingston, TX is seeking a Laundry Aide to support the delivery of laundry services for residents. This full-time role involves washing, drying, folding, ironing, mending and distributing linen and patients' clothing, with a day shift.

The position emphasizes sanitation, safety, and teamwork within the housekeeping/maintenance category. Prior laundry experience in long-term care is preferred and English literacy is required to communicate effectively with staff and

• Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assures effective laundering by loading machine to proper weight/level, setting proper cycle, and dispensing detergents and chemicals.
• Sorts laundry by color, fabric, type, etc., and prepares for washing by pre-soaking as appropriate.
• Transfers laundered items, in sanitized container, to dryers.
• Folds and stacks dried items in proper order.
• Irons those items that require it.
• Mends items that require it.
• Distributes personal laundry to patients' closets.
• Cleans and disinfects floors, appliances, folding tables, delivery carts and other laundry areas.
• Ensures sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Ensures proper storage of supplies.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards.
• Cleans vents inside dryer and outside of building daily or as needed.
• Ensures equipment is available and in good repair.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
