Job summary

Verland in Sewickley, PA is seeking a Laundry Aide for a full-time night shift (10 pm–6:30 am, Sunday through Thursday). The role ensures residents have clean linen and related items; it is hourly, non-exempt.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, delivering laundry, maintaining equipment, and reporting malfunctions. Requirements include following instructions, operating laundry equipment, driving the laundry truck, and having valid clearances.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow simple oral or written instructions.
• Must be able to operate laundry equipment; some math ability is required.
• Must be able to drive the laundry truck.
• Formal laundry training experience preferred.
• Must have all required clearances.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Collect all soiled linen from all departments at designated times.
• Sort linen according to material and status.
• Wash all linen in appropriate washers.
• Use soap formulated for specific types of laundering.
• Use correct washer settings and amounts of soap as recommended by manufacturer.
• Dry all laundry appropriately, fold and deliver laundry to the proper department.
• Keep laundry equipment and entire laundry complex clean and free of debris.
• Report all malfunctions of laundry equipment to supervisor immediately.
• Perform related duties as requested.

Full Time - 40 hours

10 pm - 6:30am Sunday thru Thursday

The Laundry Aide is responsible for ensuring that individuals are adequately supplied with proper clean linen and associated items. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions:

• Collect all soiled linen from all departments at designated times.
• Sort linen according to material and status.
• Wash all linen in appropriate washers.
• Use soap formulated for specific types of laundering.
• Use correct washer settings and amounts of soap as recommended by manufacturer.
• Dry all laundry appropriately, folds and delivers laundry to the proper department.
• Keep laundry equipment and entire laundry complex clean and free of debris.
• Report all malfunctions of laundry equipment to supervisor immediately.
• Perform related duties as requested.
• May only access the minimum information that is necessary to perform job and will comply with Verland’s privacy practices.
