Job summary

Prosper Health in Florida is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary nursing center by collecting, laundering, and distributing linens and garments. You will press garments, label personal laundry, and keep equipment and supplies organized.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of housekeeping or laundry experience in a long-term care setting; successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of housekeeping/laundry experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, and distribute laundry to residents.
• Press/iron garments as requested.
• Label residents' laundry and linens as directed.
• Clean dryer filters as necessary.
• Ensure adequate supply of laundry supplies and stock.
• Notify supervisor when supplies are low.
• Keep laundry carts clean and equipment in good order.
• Store equipment, tools and supplies properly.
• Maintain a log of missing items and report discrepancies.
• Report any mechanical or equipment needs to supervisor.
• Report any questionable resident conditions to supervisor.

Position Summary:

The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in maintaining the nursing center in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collects, sorts, washes, dries, folds and distributes all laundry items to residents.
• Presses/irons garments as requested.
• Labels residents’ personal laundry and linens as directed.
• Cleans dryer filters as necessary.
• Ensures adequate supply of laundry supplies are in stock.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies are low.
• Keeps laundry carts clean and in good working order.
• Properly stores equipment, tools and supplies.
• Keeps a log of missing items and returns them when found.
• Reports any mechanical or equipment needs to supervisor.
• Reports any questionable resident conditions to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years’ experience in housekeeping/laundry duties in a long-term health care setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds
