Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking an attentive team member for our Laundry Department to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility with a steady linen supply to meet residents' needs. You will follow standards and coordinate with nursing services during routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules and work routines.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and floors per procedures.
• Coordinate daily laundry with nursing staff.
• Dispose of trash and hazardous waste per policies.
• Post signs indicating safety hazards when applicable.
• Use PPE and handle chemicals per MSDS and policies.
• Lift up to 50 pounds."

Summary

The Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Director of Laundry Services, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Cleans walls ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
• Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Disposes of trash and waste, including biohazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Posts signs indicating safety hazard any time housekeeping activities pose environmental hazards to staff, residents, visitors or others in the facility.
• Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) when at risk of exposure to blood or other potentially hazardous body fluids and all other times indicated by facility policies and procedures.
• Complies with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances. Refers to labels and Material Safety Data Sheets for instructions. Keeps all chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers. Asks supervisor for assistance if unsure of proper handling techniques.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
