Securian Asset Management offers an Investment Analyst Development Program designed to build foundational skills in investment management. You’ll gain hands-on experience with credit analysis, market research, and portfolio management while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Two-year program with CFA designation sponsorship, mentorship, and broad exposure to public and private asset classes, including commercial real estate underwriting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated curiosity and interest in investment management, fixed income, CRE, or financial markets.
• Leadership potential and a desire to make an impact.
• Internship or relevant work experience showing analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in technology and experience with generative AI and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior investment analysts and portfolio managers to evaluate opportunities and develop recommendations.
• Conduct and present proprietary credit, industry, and market research.
• Support the evaluation of commercial mortgage investment opportunities through financial analysis and due diligence.
• Analyze commercial real estate fundamentals, including cash flows, valuation, borrower strength, and credit risk.
• Build financial models and use analytics software (e.g., Bloomberg) for analysis and reporting.
• Engage with issuer reps, sell-side analysts, borrowers, and brokers to support decision-making.
• Undertake ad hoc projects to support research, portfolio management, and investment decisions.
• Leverage generative AI to gather and analyze information from prospectuses, financials, and third-party research.
