Teach For America is a national nonprofit offering a full-time, paid two-year teaching opportunity for college seniors, graduates, and early-career professionals. You’ll teach full-time in under-resourced public schools, build relationships with students and families, and develop leadership skills while supporting student learning.

Start date: Late Spring 2027. Compensation ranges $38,000–$67,000 per year plus benefits, with AmeriCorps benefits and a pathway to teaching certification.

Through our two-year teaching corps, we place and support people who teach full-time in under-resourced public schools. You’ll drive student learning, build trust with families, and gain a ground-level understanding of how broader issues like housing, healthcare, and economic mobility shape students’ lives. Corps members build durable skills, earn hands‑on, career‑building experience, and join a network committed to expanding opportunity.

What You'll Do:

• 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
• Bachelor’s degree (in any field of study)
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status
• No background in education or teaching certification required—candidates from all majors and experience levels are encouraged to apply

• Teach For America provides every incoming corps member with a baseline stipend of $3,000–$6,500 to help with living expenses during summer training and essential upfront costs such as rent, transportation, or licensure exams — amount varies by region. An additional automatic $3,000 grant is available for Pell Grant recipients and those from low‑income backgrounds who do not receive federal student aid (for individuals graduating on/after 7/1/24).
• Additional need‑based grants and interest‑free loans are available by application to all corps members
• AmeriCorps benefits—including federal loan forbearance, interest accrual payments, and education awards—may be available depending on funding and program approval
• Pathway to teaching certification
• Intensive teaching and leadership training and classroom preparation
• After the corps, TFA’s Career Center helps alumni connect their classroom experience to grad school, fellowships, and next‑step roles across fields—giving you a structured path forward
