Job summary

Dallas Trailer Repair Co. is seeking an entry-level Semi Trailer Technician in Rosemont MN to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and related equipment.

You will use hand and power tools, follow established safety protocols, and document repairs in the company software system. The ideal candidate demonstrates mechanical aptitude, basic math, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check (10-year), and drug/medical physical exam.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Ability to read and write in English for documentation and communication.
• Must have own tools and safety gear (steel-toed shoes, welding protection).
• Possesses a valid driver’s license (If hiring for Mobile Technician)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Vocational/ Trade-School certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trailers and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty parts.
• Perform requested repairs according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
• Develop and document action plans for all repairs; follow checklists and established protocols.
• Aptitude in using various hand tools, power tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers).
• Conduct trailer body work and under-carriage work (e.g. air bag replacement, cross-members, dolly legs, tandem system).
• Document cause/complaint/correction in software system.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe workplace, including regularly cleaning and care of workspace, tools and equipment.
