Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Civil Engineering professional to support site identification and due diligence for future launch sites. You will lead conceptual site design, translating program requirements into practical layouts for grading, drainage, and utilities while coordinating with design firms and contractors.

You will contribute to environmental planning and regulatory compliance, review documents for design integrity, and be in the field for site walks and construction observation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design, analysis, or drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Willingness to travel to candidate and active sites: frequent day trips and the occasional longer stint.
• Strong communication: written, verbal, and the ability to influence design decisions with stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with ability to obtain government clearances.

Responsibilities

• Support site identification and due diligence for future Blue Origin launch sites, including site walks and evaluating constraints.
• Lead civil planning and conceptual site design for new launch pads with grading, drainage, and utilities layouts.
• Coordinate with A/E firms and contractors through design development and execution.
• Support environmental planning and regulatory compliance and agency coordination.
• Review design documents and push back when design intent is not met.
• Be in the field for site walks, construction observation, and conflict resolution.
