Job summary

Nautilus is hiring a Technical Project Manager in San Carlos, CA to lead cross-functional teams through the full product development life cycle, delivering our proteomics platform from concept to commercial release.

You will drive schedules, coordinate risks and tradeoffs, and align R&D, Operations, Marketing, and Service to ensure successful launches. The role requires strong leadership, deep technical acumen, and ability to communicate with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• onsite in San Carlos, CA and 5 days a week in office
• 5-10% travel may be required
• Minimum 8 years of relevant PM experience in product development at biotech/life sciences
• Extensive knowledge of PDP and contributing to standardized processes
• Experience taking a product from concept to successful commercial launch
• Experience working with Commercial, Marketing, Operations & Service functions
• Experience with cross-functional project integration of life sciences, software, hardware, assay, and consumables
• PMP/SAFe or equivalent Agile certifications required

Responsibilities

• Lead technical team to a successful first commercial launch with launch readiness across technical and commercial functions
• Manage multiple projects for development of the Nautilus platform (assays, consumables, software, hardware)
• Define scope, objectives and quarterly goals; report status with dashboards and tools
• Develop project plans, milestones and deliverables from conception to release
• Create and manage detailed project schedules with leads on schedule strategies
• Collaborate with leads to translate risks into actionable plans with measurable metrics
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure milestone delivery on tight timelines
• Facilitate prioritization and tradeoffs with commercial impact
• Communicate status to senior management and stakeholders
• Identify resource gaps and work with managers to address
• Use Smartsheets, Jira and Excel to develop processes with teams
• Prepare agendas, lead meetings and distribute minutes/action items
• Own integrated commercial launch plan bridging R&D, Operations, Commercial and Service
• Translate customer requirements and early feedback into development priorities and commitments
• Manage interface between milestones and customer-facing dates; escalate when risks arise
• Drive transition from development to sustaining with clear ownership and change control
