Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage Red Hat OpenShift platforms and Linux environments supporting NASA ISS operations and the Artemis program. You will automate, secure, and optimize critical infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams on mission-critical workloads.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in systems administration, strong OpenShift and Terraform experience, and a passion for aerospace-enabled technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field (preferred); experience accepted.
• 6+ years of hands-on systems administration with Linux/Red Hat and containers.
• Proven Red Hat OpenShift administration, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Scripting in Bash for automation and routine tasks.
• Terraform and IaC experience; GitLab for CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Red Hat OpenShift platforms, including monitoring and upgrades.
• Perform advanced Linux (RHEL) administration: install, secure, tune, back up, log manage.
• Develop automation scripts and playbooks with Ansible for OpenShift/Linux tasks.
• Support users and teams, resolve operational issues, ensure access and functionality.
• Document configurations, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides for the team.
• Implement IaC with Terraform for consistent provisioning and configuration.
• Use GitOps with GitLab for versioned deployments and pipelines.
• Monitor performance, respond to alerts, perform root-cause analysis and fixes.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps to align OpenShift with deployments.
