Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Launch/Business Coordinator to support product launches and decommissioning, ensuring milestones and content are delivered according to plan. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, validating new equipment, and managing lifecycle transitions within a structured, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Automotive experience in a vehicle assembly plant is required.
• Experience handling a unionized workforce is preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is important.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor project launches and decommissioning against schedule and budget.
• Manage product transfers from external sites and capture requirements in project plans.
• Determine manufacturing strategy in collaboration with functional managers.
• Define packaging requirements and strategy.
• Coordinate with suppliers to support purchasing decisions and ensure traceability.
• Lead validation activities for new equipment and processes.
• Coordinate end-of-life equipment disposition per policy and manage associated documentation.
• Track annual layout and supplier PPAP status for audit readiness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean/FPS initiatives and grow into Industrial Engineering tasks.
• Report on risks and propose mitigation actions.
• Lead milestone meetings and document outcomes for category owners.

In this position...

The Launch/Business Coordinator will support/coordinate overall process for product launches and product line decommissioning, including ensuring delivery of product, key milestones, and product content.

What you'll do...

• Monitoring projects against schedule within agreed costs and in accordance with deadlines.
• Product transfers from external sites and customer requirements during product transfer/product introduction to ensure all requirements are captured in project plans.
• Manufacturing requirements and determine the appropriate manufacturing strategy in conjunction with the functional managers.
• Packaging requirements and appropriate packaging strategy.
• Coordination with suppliers/vendors on- and off-site to make purchasing decisions
• Validation activities for new equipment and process.
• Coordinate end-of-life equipment disposition, including evaluation, documentation, and execution of equipment retirement, transfer, or disposal in accordance with company policy.
• Track and maintain annual layout and supplier PPAP status for traceability and audit readiness.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and Lean/FPS-aligned initiatives, with opportunity to grow into Industrial Engineering-focused work (time studies, line balancing, workflow analysis) as skills develop.
• Reporting on key risks and providing recommendations for mitigation.
• Milestone meetings and document meeting outcomes for follow-up by respective category owners.
• Compliance with required standards i.e. Health and Safety, Environmental and regulatory requirements.

You'll have...

• High School Diploma
• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Automotive experience in a vehicle assembly plant
• Prior experience handling a unionized work force
• Safety and Quality experience preferred
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Past experience assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety and quality
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding and communication skills

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
