Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Launch Pad Engineer for Fluid Systems in Vandenberg to support Falcon 9 operations. You will lead pad fluid system design, build, and activation, and supervise technicians across campaigns.

The role requires strong background in fluid systems, thermodynamics, and controls, with CAD experience (SolidWorks/Siemens NX) and programming for data review. Occasional travel and weekend shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical engineering, physics or related field.
• 1+ years of professional experience with fluid, mechanical, or low voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the responsible engineer for one or multiple launch pad fluid systems.
• Troubleshoot issues using heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, controls, instrumentation.
• Direct technicians on design, build, troubleshooting, maintenance and procedures.
• Develop and improve functional automation for the fluid systems.
• Identify upgrades to hardware, software, and procedures and drive improvements.
• Lead the pad during design, construction and activation.
• Present certification packages to government agencies (NASA/US Space Force).
• Cover one weekend shift per month.
