Job description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this role you will…

Establish and maintain efficient labor standards, methods, and process flow across the plant — using time studies, ergonomics evaluations, and value stream mapping to drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and effective manpower utilization in support of production goals.

What you'll do…
  • Drive development and installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods; track labor, manpower utilization, and line balancing.
  • Conduct job ergonomics evaluations and analyze process constraints, including equipment cycle time analysis.
  • Recommend the most efficient distribution of manpower, reviewing daily employee manpower and analyzing plant methods and standards.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of cost estimates for new or revised methods and standards.
  • Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, and routing.
  • Analyze production and non-production operations to identify areas requiring study, developing new or improved methods and standards.
  • Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies, and review employee proposals and suggestions.
  • Develop cycle line layouts for current and future models using ACAD; lead job methodization and process allocations.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and planning; conduct value stream mapping and process audits.
  • Develop and write cost-saving project proposals as required.
  • Interface with Production Supervision and the UAW to resolve job disputes.
  • Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes.
You’ll have…

Education: High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis, driving change back to production departments.
  • Job placement flexibility, with the expectation to rotate across various plant positions such as Production or Quality.
  • Strong customer orientation, with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver results while managing multiple priorities.
  • A participatory approach to union relations and strong team collaboration.
  • Ability to serve as a confident technical mentor to the production organization (hourly and salary).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in ONE FORD behaviors, combined with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
Even better, you'll have…

Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering

Experience: 3-5 years' experience

  • MODAPTS Certification
  • GSPAS knowledge
  • Microsoft Office
