Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking a Launch Infrastructure Engineer to oversee the lifecycle of launch-site infrastructure at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. You will drive interfaces across disciplines, develop build strategies, and ensure safety and standards compliance.

We seek a mission-driven, autonomous professional with civil/structural background, capable of leading heavy civil projects and coordinating with external vendors. ITAR requirements apply; relocation to Florida is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, construction management, or similar field.
• 4+ years of experience in engineering, design/build, and management of critical infrastructure in aerospace or similar high-performance applications.
• Experience with heavy-civil structural engineering and construction, including steel, concrete, foundations, earthwork.
• Project management fundamentals including scope, schedule, budgets, procurement, cost estimation, value engineering, and field execution.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and drive coordination across all Launch disciplines and define infrastructure strategy for high-cadence launch site.
• Develop and maintain interface requirements and performance requirements for heavy civil structures in coordination with launch mechanical, launch fluids, high power, command & control, and vehicle operations.
• Develop, own, and maintain scope development, build sequence strategy, field construction schedule planning, and on-site management.
• Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting; process change orders and maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Leverage field experience in the design of new systems to drive decisions for construction and future operations.
• Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments to optimize design for construction efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage, direct, and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and field craft on site.
• Oversee quality control inspections, material testing, and compliance with project specs and safety requirements.
• Develop, own, and execute project scope, RFPs, awards, construction management, and activation for heavy civil facilities.
• Support environmental & explosive siting permitting with authorities.

Description

Reusable systems with frequent launch cadence are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A highly operable, reliable, and robust ground system is an integral part of a fully reusable launch system. As a Launch Infrastructure Engineer for our dedicated launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, you will be responsible for all phases of the launch site lifecycle including overall architecture, engineering, build strategy, build execution, integration, commissioning, and site operations. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can’t be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and drive coordination closely across all Launch disciplines and help define & drive infrastructure strategy to enable a high-cadence, fast-turn launch site

• Support Launch Environmental & Explosive Siting permitting requirements and associated coordination with the SLD 45, St. Johns River Water Management District, and other federal, state, and local authorities
• Maintain as-built documentation, track punch list items, and manage project closeout deliverables
• Drive and maintain project execution quality and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• This role requires full-time presence at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, construction management, or similar field
• 4+ years of experience in a related role performing engineering, design/build, and management of critical infrastructure projects in aerospace or similar high-performance applications (amusement park, oil & gas, heavy equipment, energy systems, etc.)
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of heavy-civil structural engineering and construction, including experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete structures, deep foundations, mass excavations, dewatering, and mass earthwork
• Demonstrated experience in project management fundamentals including scope definition, schedule & budget development/implementation, procurement, contracts, cost estimation, value engineering, and field execution
• Demonstrated experience executing large capital improvement projects while driving economical and expedient solutions
• Excellent understanding of engineering construction drawings and construction means & methods
• Proven ability to work autonomously, receive and incorporate constructive feedback, and work well on a high-performing team
• Experience with applicable engineering standards including ASCE 7, IBC/FBC, AISC 360/358, ACI 318/530, NFPA, ASTM, & ASME

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a related role performing engineering, design/build, and management of critical infrastructure projects in aerospace or similar high-performance applications (amusement park, oil & gas, heavy equipment, energy systems, etc.)
• Experience performing structural engineering analysis and drafting for critical ground infrastructure including launch mount structures, flame trench structures, tank foundations, and other supporting structures as required for ongoing launch site needs
• Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements
• Experience working with SLD 45, SLD 30, and/or NASA and other government agencies
• Master’s degree in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or similar field
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Proficient using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Revit, and/or NX
• Experience developing civil-structural finite element models utilizing one of the following: ETABS, SAP2000, ANSYS, RISA-3D, and/or STAAD
• Experience preparing structural calculations, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards

Compensation

Target Levels:

• Level 3 Range: $129,150 - $193,620
