Job summary

Magna International Limited is seeking a Launch Coordinator in Moore, South Carolina to coordinate non-series demand for Launch and Engineering, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure new products and engineering changes are implemented smoothly in production.

You will manage BOM-based materials, assist with part procurement, and maintain schedules and KPIs to support on-time delivery. A technical or business degree and ERP experience are preferred.

Our award-winning seating solutions are developed from consumer research, finding the ease of operation to be comfortable, convenient and connected.**Job Responsibilities:****Position Summary:** The Launch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating non-series demand for Launch and Engineering, working with customers, suppliers, Operations, Engineering, and the Launch Team to ensure new products and engineering changes are implemented smoothly and effectively within the production process.**Position Responsibilities:*** Maintain a safe work environment and ensure ongoing compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.* Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 quality management system requirements, including applicable procedures and documentation; identify and recommend procedural improvements when appropriate.* Own all incoming demand for non-series products, including new program requirements, T-Cars, COP and other testing requirements, and PTRs.* Confirm customer requirements and the applicable Bill of Materials (BOM) with internal or external stakeholders.* Create and own system demand based on the confirmed BOM and customer requirements.* Track the financial invoicing of delivered seats against customer purchase orders.* Coordinate material tracking for special seat builds, including confirmation that required parts are available in-house.* Track special seat build status and provide production support using accurate, organized spreadsheets and other tracking tools.* Assist with preparing seats for shipment to customers, as required.* Own each order through completion, including material backflushing, customer invoicing, and closure of the requirement.* Support Engineering Change Management activities, including material implementation and containment, to establish clean break points and prevent shipment of obsolete parts.* Partner with planners to confirm part inventory and storage locations before build events, ensuring required parts are available in the correct quantities.* Own and maintain a detailed build schedule that supports program requirements and on-time shipment plans.* Track and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for on-time completion of non-series builds.* Participate in projects that support program requirements, as directed by Engineering management.* Own the inventory, organization, and cleanliness of the Launch/Engineering parts storage cage.* Assist with part procurement, including creating purchase requisitions, sending purchase orders, and obtaining supplier quotes.* Recommend departmental and process improvements that strengthen operational efficiency and support customer expectations.* Maintain accurate records and backup documentation in accordance with company standards.* Respond professionally to employee concerns, suggestions, and operational feedback.* Demonstrate respectful and professional conduct with co-workers, supervisors, and leadership.* Attend required meetings and training sessions and contribute constructively.* Complete all assigned training courses in a timely manner.* Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and business objectives.**Required Skills and Experience:*** Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; degree may be in progress or completed.* Working knowledge of material planning principles and processes.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.* Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs).* Understanding of structured problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement principles.* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders while promoting accountability.* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines.* Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and flexibility to support business needs, including work outside of normal business hours when required. **Preferred Skills and experience:*** Experience in the automotive industry, preferably supporting OEM Tier 1 launch programs and automotive seating products.* Knowledge of automotive seating components and seat assembly processes.* Experience building and maintaining professional customer relationships while supporting customer requirements and related commercial activities, including invoicing and coordination with Finance.* Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
