Job summary

E.J. Reynolds Company is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, fabricating precision components while interpreting drawings and GD&T requirements.

You will optimize feeds and speeds, inspect parts with precision tools, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with the team to meet production schedules; overtime may be required to support deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a fast-paced job shop.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T drawings.
• Strong shop math skills and GD&T understanding.
• Experience reading and editing G-Code and using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Select tooling, adjust offsets, and optimize feeds and speeds for quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished components with precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust machines and programs as needed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules and quality goals.
• Perform manual machining as required.

What We’re Looking For

• 2-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a fast-paced job shop environment.
• Experience with Fanuc and/or HAAS controls preferred.
• Strong understanding of feeds and speeds and the ability to optimize machining performance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T.
• Strong shop math skills.
• Working knowledge of reading and editing G-Code.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Bonus Skills

• Manual machining experience.
• Experience with vertical turning lathes (VTLs).
• CAD/CAM knowledge.
