Job summary

Kyle Police Department is seeking Police Officers to maintain order, investigate crimes, and protect life and property in the City. Starting salary is $78,755.04 for officers with a peace officer license, based on an 84-hour, two-week pay period.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 to 47 years old (exceptions apply for certain service years).
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license and be licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
• Must pass an extensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation.
• Must be able to work rotating shift assignments, including weekends and holidays.
• Must not have a break in service of more than 365 days between qualifying peace officer positions over the two-year period.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws; patrols area by vehicle and on foot; issue warnings and citations for minor offenses; apprehend and arrest violators; transport and book prisoners; testify in court; conduct security checks; direct traffic.
• Investigates crimes and accidents; interview witnesses and suspects; secure scenes; collect evidence; prepare reports and affidavits.
• Responds to calls for assistance; assists with crowd control; maintain daily activity logs and ensure regular attendance.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses; meet minimum training hours per TCOLE; testify in court as needed.
• Maintain eligibility for coverage under City vehicle insurance; pass physical and medical requirements; background checks and evaluations.
