Job summary

CBS Digital is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to drive maintenance, build-out, and migratory work of our shared services platform across multiple cloud providers and SaaS solutions. You will improve infrastructure maturity, reliability, and delivery.

The role emphasizes end-to-end deployment, IaC, CI/CD modernization, and platform governance to support high-visibility projects and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of DevOps, Platform Engineering and SRE practices.
• Hands-on experience with multi-cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI) and migrations.
• Expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD).
• Experience with observability stacks and incident management.

CBS Digital is seeking an experienced Lead Devops Engineer to drive the maintenance, build-out, and migratory work of our shared services platform across multiple cloud providers and SaaS solutions.

This role focuses on leveraging platform concepts to improve infrastructure maturity and delivery.

The role involves delivering project-based, high-visibility operational and infrastructure outcomes.

Core Platform Engineering, Operation & Governance

• Improving, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform).
• Helping to ensure the platform supports end-to-end system reliability, efficiency, and performance (Availability, Latency, Performance, Efficiency, Monitoring, Emergency Response, and Capacity Planning).
• Governance oversight including security response, optimizing cloud spend, incident management, and driving business continuity efforts.
• Migration and consolidation of disparate workloads, workflows, and CI/CD pipelines, including modernizing legacy CI/CD systems (e.g., AWS CodeSuite) to GitOps-based platforms (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).

Conceptual and Technical Experience Required

• Strong conceptual understanding of Devops, Platform Engineering and Site Reliability (SRE) practices.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI).
• Proven success in executing large‑scale, complex cloud migration projects, including lift‑and‑shift of containerized workloads and database replication across cloud providers (e.g., AWS to OCI or vice versa).
• Direct, hands‑on experience in OCI networking primitives (e.g., DRG, VCNs, Compartments) and their practical application in multi‑cloud connectivity.
• Expert level knowledge of Container Orchestration with Kubernetes, GitOps using ArgoCD (or equivalent) and Serverless technologies.
• Mastery of core IaC, GitOps, CI/CD, and Configuration Management concepts and tools.
• Expertise in Observability practices, including implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Loki, NewRelic).
• A firm understanding of end‑to‑end deployment and distribution of web services including API, Video and web sites.
• Demonstrable ability to utilize AI/LLMs for workflow optimization (including Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and pipeline oversight), debugging support, efficient data collection, and accelerating cross‑cloud artifact translation and code remediation during migration efforts.
• Deep knowledge and experience with SDLC patterns and practices.

• Demonstrated capacity for technical ownership and independent problem‑solving in complex, multi‑cloud environments.

• Workload migrations to our internal platform.
• Successful execution and automation (where applicable) of cloud security remediations.
• Implementation of platform improvements through workload migrations and focused infrastructure administration.
• Provide critical, focused operational support during high‑visibility CBS Digital events.
• Develop, enhance, and extend our shared services catalog with new tools and efficiency improvements.

Skills and Requirements

• A strong working knowledge of cloud computing environments and related technologies.
• Proven experience in deploying infrastructure as code using Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Experience working closely with security teams to automate and remediate security concerns in cloud environments.
• Expertise in monitoring and logging technologies, with the ability to use data to identify systemic problems, debug known issues, and troubleshoot new issues.
• Experience scripting in a variety of languages (Bash, Python, Node, etc.) to build and optimize platform tools.
• An ability to leverage agentic AI for rapid prototyping, development of IaC, and workflow efficiencies, specifically in the context of cross‑cloud resource translation.
• Cloud or related certifications.
• Experience managing multi‑account structures in multiple cloud environments.
• A strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
• Knowledge of GitOps concepts (specifically ArgoCD) and GitHub Actions.
• A strong understanding of frontend and backend technologies / architecture.
