Ayar Labs, the global leader in optical I/O chiplets, is seeking a motivated graduate intern to join the laser validation group within the Laser development team in San Jose. You will inspect conformance to the specification and explore the limits of the laser module in operation.

Projects are tailored to your experience and interests and you will be mentored by a senior engineer alongside a highly experienced engineering team developing the laser source product.

Qualifications

• Completed basic course structure in physics/engineering preferably including electrodynamics, calculus, solid state physics, optics or laser related areas.
• Strong programming skill in Python.
• Preferred experience working in a research lab, performing tests and optoelectronic test set ups.
• Independently working, motivated candidate with ability to complete assigned projects.

Responsabilités

• Test laser modules to pass them through the next product development gate and validate conformance to specifications.
• Test production parts and subject them to validation tests, including beyond the required operating range.
• Support test and validation of engineering modules including alternative laser sources.
• Assist with instrumental and mechanical setup modifications per test requirements, including data acquisition software optimizations and data analysis.
