Salary Range: $92,000.00 To $124,000.00 Annually

The Defense Technology Development group has a need for a Laser Prototype Engineer to build and test new lasers. This is a fast-paced role where the ability to work with people across a range of disciplines is essential. You will collaborate with optical, electrical and mechanical engineers to build and test new laser designs. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with experience building and testing fiber lasers. Fiber handling skills including splicing and cleaving are essential for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field. Willing to consider a combination of work experience and schooling in lieu of a degree.

• Experience testing fiber lasers and fiber componentsKnowledge of fiber and fiber component handling and splicing processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large and small fibers
• Ability to work independently and make design decisions
