Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Laser Cutter to operate the AMADA FO fiber laser in a safe, efficient, and precise manner. You will set up the machine, load materials, verify edge quality, and produce parts to specification.

Collaborate with engineering to resolve machine or program issues, perform minor CNC adjustments, and conduct preventive maintenance. A high school diploma or GED and 1+ year in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in manufacturing environment.
• Prefer experience operating laser cutting machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the AMADA FO fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheet-metal parts.
• Verify laser machine settings and proper material placement; remove and segregate finished parts from the tower system.
• Evaluate laser cut edges and adjust machine settings to achieve optimal edge quality.
• Operate equipment safely using all safety devices and follow supervisor instructions.
• May perform experimental and developmental work and minor CNC program modifications.
• Collaborate with engineering to correct program and machine issues and perform preventive maintenance.

Position Description

Responsible for setting up and operating AMADA FO fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheet‑metal parts safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs all set up and operation of equipment in the laser cell.
• Set up to include, but not limited to: ensuring the proper settings for the laser machine, proper placement of raw material into the tower system and removal and segregation of finished parts from the tower system.
• Must evaluate laser cut edge of part and make decisions concerning various machine adjustments to assure the optimum edge quality.
• Responsible for safe operation of equipment using all related safety devices.
• Works from verbal and/or written instructions from supervisors.
• May perform experimental and developmental work as required.
• Will work closely with engineering to correct program and machine issues.
• May need to make minor program modifications via CNC machine control.
• Will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environment. Preferably experience in operating laser cutting machines.
• Must be able to read blueprints and use a variety of measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of setup.
