Job summary

Munters Corporation on first shift seeks a Laser Press Operator to set up and run a fiber laser, cutting metal sheets to defined specifications. You will read blueprints, BOMs, and production schedules to prepare jobs and load the machine.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to maintain quality checks, document production, and keep a clean work area. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a fiber laser cutting machine.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the fiber laser to cut metal sheets per specifications.
• Load and secure work pieces using vacuum systems and other handling equipment.
• Read job packets, BOMs, and drawings to determine material needs and sequence of operations.
• Perform first piece inspection with calipers and gauges; adjust settings as needed.
• Document production and quality checks; maintain accurate run data.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report safety hazards.
• Move and stage parts to support workflow and production schedules.

Position work piece onto table with hands or crane, using vacuum system to hold piece in place. Layout cuts on computer and select lenses according to thickness and type of metal. Interpret job information to determine specific material requirements. Layout operations to maximize material utilization.undefinedLabel completed parts with appropriate part number. Remove chips and drop from parts and staging table. Determine sequence of operation for each process and edit program based on sequence. Rack and move pieces to staging area.undefinedVerify conformance of first piece to specifications using calipers, protractors, gauges, and measuring tape. Gauge work pieces randomly through run to ensure maintenance of settings and make adjustments as necessary.undefinedPerform quality checks, complete check lists, verify counts, record time per job and ensure compliance with production schedules.
