Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or closely related discipline.
• Experience in computational modeling of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, plasma physics, combustion, or related processes.
• Experience developing and implementing numerical models and conducting scientific simulations.
• Proficiency in scientific programming using Python, MATLAB, C++, Fortran, or equivalent languages.
• Ability to conduct independent research and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct computational investigations of laser-induced plasma formation and associated energy deposition/transport.
• Investigate high-enthalpy gas flows and material ablation relevant to hypersonic atmospheric entry.
• Implement, execute, and maintain scientific simulation codes and workflows, using HPC resources where appropriate.
