Job summary

The Salvation Army Ft. Myers location is seeking a dedicated kitchen worker to plan, prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and snacks in line with established schedules.

Responsibilities include safe meal service, cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment, and maintaining orderly inventory. The role requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 1 year of cooking for large groups, plus English communication ability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one year experience cooking for large groups.
• Ability to read, write and communicate English.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have or obtain Florida Food Managers Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules.
• Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner.
• Cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances.
• Maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.
