Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a dedicated Landscaping Technician in Murfreesboro, TN to maintain the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital grounds. This full-time day-shift role leads a small crew and emphasizes safety and customer service for a healthcare campus.

You will operate a range of landscape equipment, perform seasonal maintenance, and support facilities staff while upholding Medxcel standards and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid State Driver's License; CDL and pesticide certification preferred.
• Five years landscaping or horticultural experience; TN pesticide certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a crew of 4–8 employees and manage daily work.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and assist with weekly safety training and inspections.
• Maintain landscape tasks: weed control, pruning, pest treatments, planting, lawn care, seasonal clean-up.
• Operate equipment (mowers, back hoes, bobcats, tillers, chainsaws) and move materials.
• Provide training to Landscaping Technicians and assist Facilities Maintenance staff and winter painting projects.

Responsibilities

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Oversees a crew of 4–8 employees and manages the daily work performed.
• Ensures adherence to all safety policies, assists with weekly safety training and inspections, and helps maintain proper inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs a wide variety of tasks to maintain an attractive landscape, including weed control, perennial cultural practices, pruning, pest treatments, planting, routine lawn care (grass cutting, edging), and seasonal clean-up.
• Operates various mechanical equipment (mowers, back hoes, bobcats, tillers, chainsaws, etc.), moves materials, digs holes and trenches, hauls/spreads materials, and performs snow removal.
• Provides training to Landscaping Technicians, maintains assigned equipment, responds politely to customer inquiries, applies chemicals under direction, and assists Facilities Maintenance staff and special projects, including painting during the winter season.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Education

• High school diploma or Equivalent Required

License

• ValidState Driver's License and insurable with company's agent
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) -preferred
• Pesticide Certification -preferred

Experience

• Five years of experience in landscaping or horticultural work
• TN category 3 pesticide certification.
