Job summary

Cal-Am Properties, Inc. in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Landscaping, Pool & Maintenance professional who will focus on maintaining grounds and pools in our community. Responsibilities include mowing lawns, caring for flower beds, inspecting pools, and performing other maintenance duties.

Ideal candidates will be familiar with maintenance equipment, able to lift heavy items, and work in varying climates. This full-time position offers hourly compensation and various benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Familiar with maintenance tools like lawn mowers and hedge trimmers.
• Must be able to swim, climb stairs and ladders, bend or crawl.

Responsibilities

LANDSCAPING, POOL & MAINTENANCE

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Vacation and Sick, 401K

Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm

Subject to change, with or without notice, at the company’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lawns, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, and other grounds features.
• Mows and edges lawns, using power mowers, push mowers, and/or edgers.
• Cares for lawns by laying mulch, removing weeds, and trimming trees and plants.
• Maintains flower beds by pruning, weeding and watering as needed.
• Prunes and trims trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Plants flowers and trees.
• Mixes and sprays or spreads fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees.
• Maintains the ground equipment which may include repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Operates powered lawn equipment, such as mowers, weed whackers, electric clippers, and pruning saws.
• Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Prepares or assists in preparing all vacancies to a market-ready condition.
• Performs various community maintenance functions and records findings in maintenance log. These functions may include, but are not limited to light bulb changes, caulking, filter changes, touch-up painting, lock repairs, snow removal, install/repair window coverings, pool maintenance, minor HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance, etc.
• Moves heavy objects as requested.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor or Community/Resort Manager on special maintenance projects, i.e., preventive maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals.
• Assists in keeping the grounds and common areas free of trash and debris.

Pools/Spas

• Inspect pool at the start of shift per Daily Pool Inspection Report
• Use Daily Pool/Spa Chemistry Log Sheet / Color Q or Taylor test kits
• Report any safety issues with equipment to supervisor prior to start
• Clean the scum line where the water meets the pool wall
• Backwash Filters as required to clean filter and perform water exchange in pool
• Check all entry / exit gates for proper operation, must close and latch every time when released
• Check all emergency equipment for proper location within pool area
• Check that all signage is in place and legible
• Document all pool chemical levels on Daily Report Sheet Complete chemical readings daily
• Clean, wipe down, align and straighten all tables, chairs, and loungers
• Skim pools daily
• Brush/scrub pool and spa walls/stairs must at least 3x per week
• Pool deck, lounge chairs and breezeway must be scrubbed/power washed daily
• Vacuum pools and spas daily
• Works closely with management and maintenance staff in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of the Company.
• Maintains open communication with Resort/Community management.
• Delivers various communications to residents as needed. Attends and assists in setting up for resident functions and activities.
• Drives motorized vehicle on or off Resort/Community for company business.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy equipment.
• Must be familiar with the use of maintenance equipment, such as lawn mowers and hedge trimmers.
• Required to lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
• Required to sit, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, walkabout inside and outside, or be in a stationary position for the duration of the work shift.
• Must be able to swim, climb stairs and ladders, bend or crawl.
• Must be able to work in all climates.
• CPO Certification a PLUS.
