Job summary

Oaklawn is seeking a Landscaping Laborer to maintain and install the property's landscape and related features. The role emphasizes guest service, safety, and a professional appearance on site at the Hotel/Casino.

Responsibilities include installing landscapes, performing maintenance, and operating lawn equipment, while adhering to company policies and standards. A valid driver’s license and ability to work with guests are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and/or installation of Oaklawn’s landscape.
• Provide impeccable guest service and maintain a friendly image.
• Install landscapes/elements including hardscapes, lighting, and plants.
• Perform landscape maintenance, irrigation, planting, and clean-ups.
• Operate common landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.).
• Follow Oaklawn policies and protect grounds.

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Landscaping Laborer. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Landscaping Laborer is responsible for maintenance and/or installation of Oaklawn’s landscape. Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests
• Installation of new landscapes or landscape elements, including but not limited to hardscapes, bulk rock or soil, irrigation, landscape lighting, water features, and plants
• Landscape maintenance, irrigation, planting or removal of plants, and landscape clean-ups
• Operate common landscape equipment (i.e. zero-turn mower, push mower, weed eater, trimmer, etc.)
• Police Oaklawn grounds
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
