The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation in North Dakota seeks a hands-on Landscaping and Grounds Crew member to maintain flowers, lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces across TRMF properties. This seasonal role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in creating welcoming spaces, and works well as part of a team.

Pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, based on experience, with benefits including employee housing options, discounts, and complimentary access to select Medora

Responsabilités

• Plant, water, weed, deadhead, and care for flowers, lawns, gardens, and planters.
• Trim trees, shrubs, hedges, and other vegetation for healthy growth and aesthetics.
• Prepare planting areas and spread soil, seed, mulch, or straw as needed.
• Keep sidewalks, parking areas, fountains, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces clean and maintained.
• Safely operate landscaping tools, mowers, tractors, trimmers, blowers after training.
• Apply fertilizers and landscape chemicals per directions and safety procedures.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems, including seasonal startups and winterization.
• Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, and maintenance needs.
• Assist guests with info about TRMF attractions and services.

The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and premier tourism organization dedicated to connecting people with Medora through memorable entertainment, historical, and educational experiences.

Position Summary

Help keep Medora beautiful. The Landscaping and Grounds Crew maintains flowers, lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces across TRMF properties. This hands-on seasonal role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in creating welcoming spaces, and works well as part of a team.

Pay and Seasonal Benefits

What You’ll Do

• Plant, water, weed, deadhead, and care for flowers, lawns, gardens, and planters.
• Trim trees, shrubs, hedges, and other vegetation to support healthy growth and an attractive appearance.
• Prepare planting areas and spread soil, seed, mulch, or straw as needed.
• Keep sidewalks, parking areas, fountains, playgrounds, and other outdoor spaces clean and well maintained.
• Safely operate landscaping tools, mowers, tractors, trimmers, blowers, and other equipment after required training.
• Apply approved fertilizers and landscape chemicals according to product directions and safety procedures.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems, including seasonal startups and winterization.
• Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, irrigation problems, and maintenance needs.
• Assist guests with friendly, accurate information about TRMF attractions and services.
• Work safely, support the team, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience and Requirements

• Landscaping, ground maintenance, horticulture, irrigation, or plant-care experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A valid driver’s license, at least one year of driving experience, and an acceptable driving record are required to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role works primarily outdoors in changing weather and around landscaping equipment, dust, mud, noise, and approved chemicals. Required personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed.

• To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to, with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and use hands and arms for extended periods.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance or equipment.
• Safely operate tools and equipment and use the vision needed to complete work and recognize hazards.
