Landscaper / Maintenance (Full-Time)

Summary

The Landscaper/Maintenance position is responsible for property maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and building systems. This position ensures facilities are functional, well‑maintained, and clean.

Applicants must be reliable, willing to pitch in, and able to work in all weather conditions.

Essential Functions

• Perform property upkeep, lawn maintenance, and clear debris within and surrounding the property.
• Operate mowers, weed whackers, saws, power tools, and hand tools.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on lawn‑care equipment.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
• Keep records of repairs and replacements and causes of malfunctions.
• Estimate, order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition.
• Remove snow and ice.

Physical Requirements

These requirements represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.

Environmental Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to refrigeration, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Landscaping activities involve exposure to outdoor conditions.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time Union position. Hours of work are 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, with occasional overtime.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience landscaping.
• Minimum 1 year experience in maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment.
• Ability to disassemble machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
• Experience performing routine maintenance.
