Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires a valid California driver's license with a good driving record verified by the DMV.
• Must have complete knowledge and understanding of safe lifting procedures.
• Work is performed outside often during inclement weather under limited supervision.
• Assignments are somewhat complex in nature and may require physical stamina to complete tasks.
• Independent judgment is often required in solving basic problems and making routine recommendations.
• Bi-lingual skills (English-Spanish) are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Cut lawns, trim and edge around walkways and flower beds.
• Prune shrubs, trees, and plants; rake up leaves and litter.
• Perform periodic inspections of plants and grasses.
• Assist in determining fertilizer and pest control programs.
• Mix and use chemicals, some hazardous.
• Maintain irrigation systems and plumbing.
• May perform trade work such as carpentry or painting.
• Assist in planning landscape modifications.
• Operate tractors or other equipment.
• Observe all laws and regulations.
• Work in a safe manner according to procedures.
