Overview

FACILITY OPERATIONS-IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA) in the Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) unit works to ensure Indiana University campuses are beautiful, functional, and sustainable, supporting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement. This role is within Landscape Services and handles grounds maintenance, tree care, snow removal, and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, and edges turf areas using riding mower, push mower, weed whipper, and edger.
• Mulches, weeds, removes thatch, aerates, and trims and edges around flower beds, walks, pathways, and walls.
• Prepares planting beds with hand and power tools; integrates soil amendments; plants bulbs, flowers, ground covers, trees, and shrubs; applies mulch.
• Prunes trees, shrubs, vines, and hedges; rakes leaves.
• Performs snow and ice removal with hand tools and power equipment.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including general building maintenance duties, drives university vehicles as needed, works any shift as needed, and assists with snow removal activities as necessary.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

Work Experience

• 1 year of landscape or grounds-related work experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Ability to apply seed, fertilizer and chemicals.

Compensation: $17.43 per hour ($36,254.40 annually) for full‑time staff employees.
