Job summary

SavATree is hiring a landscape technician and planter to apply knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses in growing, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers. They also design gardens, walkways, and other outdoor features at client properties.

You will work outdoors on beautiful properties, applying expertise to ensure ongoing health, beauty, and well-being of each client’s landscape.

Qualifications

• Degree in Turf, Entomology, Plant Sciences, or Horticulture, or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of hands-on lawn care and turf application.
• Minimum 2 years in landscape-related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and autonomously.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses to grow, prune, and fertilize shrubs, lawns, and flowers.
• Design gardens, walkways, sitting areas, bridges, and other outdoor features.
• Plant trees, transplant, and ensure healthy growth; cleanup debris on sites.
• Work outdoors on client properties and maintain landscape health and beauty.

SavATree is hiring a landscape technician and planter to apply knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses in growing, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers. They also use knowledge of aesthetics to creatively design gardens, walkways, sitting areas, bridges, and other functional aspects of outdoor areas. Duties can include tree planting, transplanting, ensuring plants grow well in their assigned area as well as cleaning up debris around yards and other areas.

In this role you will have you will have the opportunity to work outside on beautiful properties in your community, You Will apply your expertise to ensure the on-going health, beauty and well-being of each client’s landscape.

• Requires frequent standing, kneeling, walking, pulling, reaching, stooping and bending.
• Requires walking primarily on uneven turf or rocky areas while on job sites.
• May be exposed to moderate to loud work environments. These areas will require the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection.
• Will be exposed to dust, dyes, grease, odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
• Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small and large engine equipment, skid steers, and loaders.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent stamina is required.
• Work with and near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

What kind of person are we looking for? Someone with:

• The ability to run various types of equipment, who enjoys heavy lifting in various weather conditions.
• A Degree in Turf, Entomology, Plant Sciences, Horticulture, or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in lawn care maintenance and turf application
• Horticulture/Arboriculture Trade Certification a bonus
• Minimum 2 years of experience in landscape related field
• Must be able to operate equipment safely.
• The responsibility and independence to work autonomously.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills to understand and meet client needs.
• Valid driver's license
