Corso's Flower & Garden Center in Sandusky, OH is seeking Landscape Crew Members for a full-time, year-round role. Tasks include sod laying, mowing, planting, irrigation, and installation of walls, with starting pay of $18/hour and opportunities for overtime.

As part of the Landscape and Mowing crews, you will load and unload trucks, operate mowers and power tools, maintain gardens and irrigation systems, and help with site preparation and seasonal cleanups.

Landscape Crew Members typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortar-less segmental concrete masonry wall units. Start at $18/hour with opportunity for overtime.

Position Summary

Landscape Crew Members typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortar-less segmental concrete masonry wall units. Start at $18/hour with opportunity for overtime.

Landscape Crew Duties

• Assist with loading and unloading work trucks with product and tools.
• Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, skid steers, chain saws, gas clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment or structures.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand of automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Maintain irrigation systems.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants and adjust the amount of water consumption to prevent waste.
• Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection.
• Decorate gardens with stones or plants.
• Haul or spread topsoil or straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.
• Plan or cultivate lawns or gardens.
• Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes.
• Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, and planters.

Mowing Crew Duties

• Assist with loading and unloading work trucks with product and tools.
• Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, skid steers, chain saws, gas clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
• Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or brush trimmers, and axes)
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment or structures.

Corso's Landscape operates year around with exposure to all seasons and weather conditions. Candidates must be willing to work in cold, hot, humid, rainy, and windy conditions. Employees are responsible for providing their own weather-appropriate attire.

Salary: $18.00 per hour
